TECHNICAL INVESTIGATION & SAMPLE TESTING

 

To ensure our compatible toners fulfill our strict quality requirements, testing and analyzing are required prior to release for the sale our toners. The quality requirements are based on our manufacturing partners as well as our own internal quality guidelines such as ISO-9001 specific for OEM equivalent image quality and performance. Below are the main testing elements:

 

Toner Consumption

Toner consumption comes down to a toner cartridge’s price per page which is dependent on 2 major factors – the price of the cartridge and the manufacturer’s expected page yield number. This holds true for compatible toners as well as OEM’s.

Copstore tests toner consumption of our compatible toner cartridges based on the yield number stated by the original manufacturer according to copier model. To get the cost per page, we take the price of the compatible cartridge and divide it by the OEM yield.

 

Transfer Efficiency

Transfer efficiency id the measure of how much toner is transferred from the cartridge onto the surface i.e paper as well as the transfer current for a certain paper grade under relative humidity conditions.

Here at Copstore, our compatible toners are tested based on the ideal transfer efficiency expressed by the toner amount standard set by us.

 

Waste Toner

To maximize toner usage and to enable our customers to make the most of their toner grammage, it is imperative that the toner waste percentage stays low. We determine this by calculating the volume of the waste toner bottle against the original grammage of the toner cartridge over its lifespan.

 

Chip-test (for chips)

 

Toners are useless without a functioning toner chip as one of the functions of a toner chip is to manage toner information according to printer requirements. Therefore, the compatible toners available from Copstore are usually outfitted with a new compatible toner chip.

 

COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION & TECHNICAL SUPPORT OF NEW TONER

Once our sample toners have undergone and completed our comprehensive testing, it is then put through a series of compatibility tests by our R&D department to discover the copier models that are suited to each individual sample. To do this, our R&D will determine compatibility via copier machine testing as well as printing quality.

 

Every compatible found to work well with each sample is then catalogued into our database for customer and in-house reference. Due to our experienced staff, we are able to provide technical support for all of our new compatible toners and further help us to cater to our clients.

 

CUSTOMIZATION OF TONER FORMULAS FOR SPECIFIC CASES

Actual formulations of OEM toners are custom-designed based on a proprietary formula specific to your brand of printer.

To match our OEM competitors, our compatible toners are often times formulated according to customer specific requirements at their request or through feedback. These requirements cover many different areas such as image density, colour gamut and the fixation of toner on different papers.
